Uncompromising Youths in the Compromising World

Uncompromising Youths in the Compromising World

TEXTS: Daniel 1:8-16; Romans 12:2; John 17:16

Today’s world is going more and more depraved. In the world all over, godlessness abounds every day. This is an indication of the end time, but it is more unfortunate that youths of this age are the most involved age group in the end time perversion. Why? (Psalm 127:4)

Youth is generally known as the time of life between childhood and adulthood (maturity). This specific age range that constitutes youth varies.

What is Compromise?
The Longman dictionary defines “compromise” as settling an argument or differences of opinion between sides; by each side yielding some of its demand and agreeing to some of the demands of the other. It is also taking a middle course acceptable to all sides.

Bible describes ‘compromise’ as agreement by concession (concession means yielding after disagreement) – Jude 16-17; I Kings 13:15-19; Gal. 2:11-14.

Dangers of Compromise
Today, compromise is a common thing Christians face as temptation daily. If one wants to compromise there are many excuses one could give. Such excuses may be reasonable but that does not take away the dangers in it.
1.  It makes one to lose God’s favour (I Kings 11:11)
2.  It makes one to lose the best of God for his/her life (I Sam. 13:14)
3.  It makes one to lose his soul in this life and in eternity (Matt. 16:26)

How Can Youths Live Uncompromisingly in this Compromising World?
We can live without compromise if we shall be strengthened against compromise like Daniel. The followings are necessary to live an uncompromised life:
1.  Have a strong determination (Dan. 1:8)
2.  Be fully persuaded on biblical convictions (Psalms 119:14-16 & 30)
3.  Never conform to the world (Rom. 12:1-2; Deut. 18:9; Titus 2:11)
4.  Be strong in faith i.e. trials are inevitable (Dan. 3:16 & 17; II Tim. 1:12)
5.  Approach the fountain of grace daily to draw the needed grace (Heb. 4:15 & 16)
6.  Be fully determined and settled on making heaven and constantly say NO to sin (Gen. 39:9)
7.  Put on the whole armour of God (Eph. 6:11-18)

5 Benefits of Uncompromising Life
When Daniel refused to compromise in Babylon, what did he get?
1.  He became a respected man for his dedicated life (Dan. 1:15 & 16)
2.  He was endowed with heavenly gifts and power (Dan. 2:19)
3.  He became a favourite of Heaven (Dan. 1:17 & 18)
4.  He became a great man in the Kingdom (Dan. 2:48)
5.  He excelled among his equals (Dan. 1:19 & 20)

Conclusively, what God will give you for your uncompromising life is far better than what the world will offer you for compromising (I Cor. 2:9).
